Kotegaeshi
- Start Kotegaeshi when you are 180deg from your partner
- A typical mistake while performing the kotehaeshi, is to look at the partner eyes instead of turning with the body and look to the side
- It's improtant to continue the motion of Uke and do it smooth. Otherwise it would be very difficult to execute it and it would be a power collision.
- When Uke close the fist or hold a knife, don't rotate the hand but roll it to the root of the hand
- There's no need for a big movement, the motion should be as a spiral toward Uke center like trying to circulate him from his palm as a spiral toward his center
- It's important to release the sholder (release and bring it back) to reduce resistane of the opponent
- If the fist is in 90deg and there's a press on the pointing finger it should be easy to roll the hand
- It's important to hold the hand hear our hips and not close to the Uke, this way we have a lot more power and control and the Uke have much less
- When the body in tenkan movement, bring the uke first from his center down and forward and not directly toward us since he could hit with his second hand. Other options are to go down or move the kotegaeshi up
- During the turn, move his hand to your guts (very close to the body). You should end such your hand is like climbing a table (his hand is the table)
- Don't let him raise, move to the side (prevent a punch) and move his hand to the floor
- Your body should always be straight, always move with the knees and hips down
