Ikkyo
- Don't stay with your hand forward, bring the hand only when Uke approaches you
- Hand should be relaxed, work with the hips
- Start contact before the attacker starts his aggression convergence - the timing is very important, delay would result in a clash and opposing forces.
- Can make a small fwd slide to get away from the line of attack
- The position should be inside (could be with a step forward) to make sure no force against the holding hand. You should be after the force of the hand
- Focus on holding the elbow (first) with one hand and cut and hold the inner side of the wrist with the second hand - both hands straight
- Keep enough breath power to apply the technique
- Sometimes we can absorb the aggression so the wrist hand almost touch your head
- Start to press toward his center, don't focus on the hand but the breath power form our center of the body
- Always press on the hand and elbow to the center of the Uke
- Pinning is done with the hip power while the upper hand and the elbow hand goes down in a circular movement
- Make a step only when the movement almost finished (with the body inertia)
- The look and feeling is very important. For Omote, the look and feeling forward toward Uke, for Ura to his far shoulder
- Finishing by pinning and holding the Uke hand by both hands
