Arriving

After a long day of transportation we finally arrived to Salzburg. We had an appartment in a small vilage, hotel Gut Romerhof in Altenmarkt im Pongau. The view from the room was astonishing and the village was very welcoming. We had a coffee and the children played with some of the toys the restaurant offered. We didn't have a lot of time to travel but at least saw Spiderman climbing on some house :)

Hohenwerfen castle

We went to Hohenwerfen castle, a 900 years old, 600 meter and one of the most beutiful in the area. We joined the guided tour and played some games around. Of course didn't miss the amazing eagles show

Salzburg

The drive to Salzburg was busy. The parking area was full and we had to wait about 1 hour until we found a place to park. We walked the whole day in the city and few museums. The Toy museum was disapointing. The nature museum was too big and the science lab was nice. On the way we saw many woman with traditional clothes. Overall a busy day.

Geisterberg Alpendorf

On the way to the Gohst mountain the view was great, we saw a lot of woods on the grass. We went up with a cable and after a walk another trctor train took us to the starting place. We walked around the stations, each offered another attraction. The kids had to fill stickers and got a present at the end. The walk and the view was amazing for the entire family. When we went down, the kids played in the area. One of the most enjoyable places! We even had enough time for our first roller coaster close to our hotel and an apple Shtrudel.

Hallstatt

After a breakfast in our appartment, we started the day with another roller on the way to Hallstatt. Hallstatt is a big and very beutiful lake with a lot of shops. We enjoyed walking around the lake and the town. Near the church there's a small room with skulls that took out of the graves to free some space. Each skull is marked with its name and date of death. We sat for a lunch in a tourist restaurant near the lake and enjoyed the view. Arriving back to our hotel we joined a local cellebration in the village where people were selling some staff. The kids asked and got a home made French fried.

Kitzlochklamm

Kitzlochklamm is a beautiful and impressive natural wonder with numerous bays, towering cliffs, an impressive bridges, and a waterfall. We climbed and take the tour around the cliff. From there we tried our luck in searching gold in Rauris area and even found some. Hopefully it could cover the parking ticket. We ate the traditional Cordon Bleu in a nice restaurant near the gold river.

Hellbrunn Palace

Hellbrunn Palace built in the 16th century is known by the surprising water jets that the archibishop Markus Sittikus built to entertain his visitors. The kids enjoyed to run through the fountains and the beutiful gardens.

Climbing Waldbad Anif

A nice climbing place with interesting and challenging routes. We did up to the 5th route which was challenging for boys. The 6th route required higher weight so we had to skip it.

Hallein Salt Mine

We went into the mines in the German side since boys under 6yo can enter. We took some funny pictures near the river until our guided tour started. The guided tour is about 90min. We started with a small train that carried us into the mine, we slide on a wodden sliders to about 80m depth and 400m into the mountain. We had demos and explanation how water pumped the salt out of the mine.

Konigssee lake

Beutiful lake to walk around and eat some dinner.

Grossglockner

A curved and beutiful road that climb up to a glacier. There are many stops on the way each with a different attraction. Amazing to see the bicycles riders who climbed the steep hill and the racing cars. Every day when we got to the hotel the local dog comes to play with us.

Tyrol - the oposite house

On the way to Tyrol we stopped for a visit in the oposite house. It was nice to take some photos and turn them around. The result is very funny.

Tyrol Hotel

The weather was sunny so we had a good chance to take some rest in the local pool and have a good dinner.

Innsbruck

A nice and pictorial village. We went to the ears and brain museum with some explanations about our hearing sensors.

Stubai Glacier

One of the highest mountains in Tyrol with a nice glacier. The view is nice but was not very interesting to the kids.

Flight back home

No words :)
